Let’s keep it real, when we started our photo organizing businesses Simple Photo Stories and Photovation, neither of them were VIP photo organizing businesses. They were great small businesses, but when it comes to juggling life, the kids, and everything else, we knew we could do better. We were both clear on knowing we wanted a business that served 3-5 VIP clients who had a lifetime of memories to preserve versus one and done projects. Our passion, like yours, lies with preserving photos and helping people tell their stories.
We knew we had some work in front of us so we managed it similar to a client project (small chunks at a time) and in phases:
- 1. Get crystal clear on our income goal, how much we wanted to work and our ideal client
- 2. Understand what profitable pricing looked like and shift our language to match
- 3. Create templates and guides of what we did so we could share with others
A couple of years later we launched our Profitable Photo Organizing signature course to a select group of photo organizers…and waited…to see what happened…and we were not surprised. They rocked it!
We’re not going to lie. It takes hard work. And for most of them, the mindset shift was the hardest part.
